is it warm where you are????

spring, my foot!

it's cold out in these here parts.... today was actually a beautiful sunny day, but oh my, the wind was cold

i was in my sewing room all morning working on class projects and such, and this little card was one of them

i wouldn't normally be working on wintery things at this time of year but my class posse demands christmas projects all year round and i am always happy to oblige

i do think they'll like this little guy....
although they have been known for deigning not to make the project at all on occasion...

one person won't do anything with points
another won't do anything by hand
two aren't allowed anything that resembles glue
two more will only work together, one reads the directions, the other interprets them
and one only comes for the food

but as they point out... as long as they pay for their seat, and are happy, who cares if they actually make the class project?

they are such a fun group and they are the reason i keep teaching, even when i am sure i've had enough

let the games begin!

That´s the exact same thing that happened when I held bear making classes - they didn´t really come for the projects. I stopped - I couldn´t spare the time on those premises.
I really admire you for keeping up and still be inspired - hats off for you

What about the ones that came to drink - no wait! They usually did that before they came. I think anyone who has taught, has had the same exact group of gals in class, usually the social gatherers, but many of the others.

I used to have one that would buy the pattern and come to class with an already finished item! Talk about humbling there - looks like a fun class...the one that won't do things by hand is probably SOL, though!

And, by the way, you don't WANT to know how warm it is here, really, but thanks for acting interested! :-) XOXOXO Tanya

That's adorable! Unfortunately, also apt with today's wind, freezing rain, and ice pellets! I'm staying indoors! Where's spring? The Farmers' Almanac says it will start after the 14th! brrrr

Dear Jillayne,
I think most classes are like that, and ...there will alwayes be some persons ,not that very interested in the projects...but I think, that if only some are, and the rest are cosy and happy,too,- it is fun for me too, teaching and earning a bit of money :-)
Your snowman is so sweet, and I love the text you added.
Hope your weekend will be a happy one, my friend.

Hi Jillayne,
Sounds like most classes. When I taught all day decorative painting classes, about half came to really learn and the others just loved to break for lunch. LOL
It was fun and I think I learned as much from them about people as I hope they did. LOL

Love your sweet little guy freezing his Bells off. LOL
Too cute.
We could be warmer here too, but they say 80's are coming this weekend. I will wait and see.

Have a great weekend,
Hugs, CM

I hopped to your blog from your Flickr profile..and see a few faces in your comments that I've seen on my blog and those of others for a few years now...... I always find that pretty interesting and kind of funny...but, I guess we do tend to move in the same circles when we craft and sew...
